The Story Behind the Painting
The first rays of morning break across the water, illuminating a small cluster of pines that have weathered countless seasons along the Canadian Shield. For just a few moments, the trees seem to glow against the cool blues of the receding night, while their reflections shimmer across the calm lake.
This painting was inspired by one of those quiet mornings when the world feels suspended between darkness and daylight. The still water, warm light, and rugged shoreline remind me why I return to these lakes again and again. They are places of beauty, resilience, and renewal.
