A Special Commission

I’ve had my head down working on a very special commission for the last couple of weeks. This one took me far out of my comfort zone working at such a large size (40 x 60 inches)…much larger than my usual painting size. The client had a vision of a sunlit lake scene complete with a birch tree and path leading to the shore using colours from her home’s interior. I so wanted to bring this vision to life as it was such an honour to paint this special gift between two wonderful friends.

What I learned: - There will be more large scale paintings in my future! - Stepping out of my comfort zone comes with a lot of pressure but also so much joy. - The feeling of making someone happy through painting is absolutely priceless.
