Wanderer’s Way

This painting was inspired by a quiet morning walk through the woods. The sun had risen high enough to catch the tops of the trees, and light was filtering down in scattered patches...soft, dappled, shifting with every breeze. It was that kind of stillness where the forest feels alive, but unhurried.
I was struck by how the light illuminated the young leaves—almost as if the trees themselves were glowing from within. There was a gentle unfolding of colour and shape and air. That’s what I tried to hold onto in this piece: the sense of quiet energy, of being surrounded by something both delicate and steady.
These are the kinds of moments that stay with me long after I’ve left the woods and they’re often what pull me back to the canvas.
