The Story Behind the Painting
There is a brief moment just before the sun fully rises when the landscape seems to pause. The water becomes almost perfectly still, colours soften, and the first warm light quietly spreads across the lake.
That fleeting moment inspired this painting. I was drawn to the contrast between the cool blues of the morning sky and the rich golds and oranges beginning to reflect across the water. The shoreline remains in shadow while the day slowly announces itself, creating a sense of anticipation and calm.
It's a reminder that some of nature's most beautiful moments aren't dramatic. They're quiet, gentle, and often over in just a few minutes.
