Dreaming: Original Canadian Landscape Painting

Some of my favourite moments at the lake are the quiet ones. When the water is calm, the sky is full of colour, and the reflections begin to move gently with the smallest ripple.

That feeling inspired my new original Canadian landscape painting, Dreaming.

I wanted to capture that sense of being completely present, with nowhere to go and nothing that needs your attention. Just blue sky, colourful clouds and water reflecting it all back.

I love how a scene like this can make you pause and let your mind wander. It is one of the things I enjoy most about painting the Canadian landscape. I’m not just trying to paint what I see. I’m trying to capture how it feels to be there.

The gentle movement of the water became an important part of this painting. The reflections are never completely still, and I think that little bit of movement keeps the peacefulness of the scene from feeling static.

For me, this painting is about slowing down, taking a breath and enjoying a quiet moment in nature. I hope it brings a little of that same feeling of calm and possibility into your home.
