The Story Behind the Painting

There are evenings when the lake seems to hold onto the day's last light just a little longer. The sun slips behind the trees, the sky fills with drifting clouds, and every colour seems to echo across the water.
 

What drew me to this scene wasn't simply the sunset. It was the way the warm glow met the cool blues of the evening sky, creating a quiet balance between light and shadow. The reflections stretched across the still water, turning the entire lake into a canvas of shifting colour.
 

I wanted this painting to capture that fleeting moment when the day gently gives way to evening. It's a reminder of how quickly these moments pass, yet how deeply they stay with us long afterward.
