Painting the Light in Living Waters, an Original Landscape Painting

One of my favourite parts of painting Living Waters was adding the sunbeams filtering through the trees and across the water.
Light can completely change a landscape. I wanted these sunbeams to feel soft and natural, as though you’ve just stepped onto the shore on a quiet morning and caught that moment when the light breaks through the trees.
Living Waters is the original oil painting I’ve donated to the 2026 Watersheds Canada Art Raffle. It’s a painting that has become very personal to me, and I’m happy that it can also help support the important work of Watersheds Canada.
