Wish You Were Here: An Original Landscape Painting

Some places remain with us, even after we’ve left.

Maybe it’s a certain lake where the water was perfectly calm at sunset, a cottage where evenings seemed to last forever, or a quiet spot discovered on a favourite trip. There are moments when everything comes together… the light, the sky, the reflections… and you find yourself wishing someone special was there to see it too.
That feeling was on my mind when I painted Wish You Were Here.

I imagined a peaceful evening on the lake, with vibrant clouds stretching across the sky and leading the eye toward the distant horizon. The water is calm, but not completely still. Soft ripples catch the colours above, reflecting the last light of the day.
For me, the painting is really about connection. It’s about sharing a beautiful moment, even when the person you wish were beside you isn’t.
Maybe that’s one of the reasons we’re drawn to landscape paintings. A painting can hold onto a feeling… a place we love, a memory we treasure, or simply the sense of escape we experience when we’re surrounded by nature. Years later, we can look at it and be transported back there.

Wish You Were Here is a small 12 x 12 inch original oil painting, created to bring a little of that peaceful lakeside feeling into your home.
And perhaps, when you look at it, you’ll think of somewhere or someone you wish were there with you.
