Public Art Project for the Town of Whitby

Lots of excitement lately after having been awarded the Public Art Project by Mayor Don Mitchell’s annual fundraising Volunteer Planning Committee together with the Station Gallery. The winning entry captures Whitby's rich history with a strong focus on public engagement and collaboration. The work was unveiled recently at the Mayor's Night Out on the Town event at Trafalgar Castle.

This project is a three piece expression that evokes community pride and participation. Each piece reflects a moment in time—past, present, and future. The Past (1947) and Present (2017) are both oil paintings while the Future is a line drawing dry erase board that welcomes continuous individual input and interpretation to Imagine Our Future.

It was a honour to be part of this fantastic experience. These pieces will soon be installed at the Whitby Town Hall.
