Stillness in the Shallows

This painting was inspired by a lovely morning at a quiet pond in Algonquin Provincial Park, just as winter loosened its grip and spring began to stir. The water was calm, almost glass-like, mirroring the stillness of the forest surrounding it. Bare branches stood beside evergreens, a reminder of the season’s slow shift. There was a profound hush in the air—no wind, no movement—just the soft presence of nature awakening.
