The Big Art Show is happening May 2–4, 2025! This show brings together 40 artists, each showcasing one original large-scale artwork. Originals will be available for purchase, and you can also order prints. If you love art, creativity, and a vibrant community vibe, you won’t want to miss this weekend!

Inspiration for this painting came from a morning that was quiet, the kind of stillness that makes you pause and just feel everything around you. I had taken my kayak out early, and as I drifted along the shoreline, the sun began to rise—casting golden light through the pines and setting the forest aglow from within. The way the light filtered through the trees, touched the rocks, and shimmered across the water was breathtaking. It felt like the whole world was holding still just for that moment.
I sat there for a while, just watching, letting it soak in. The scent of pine, the gentle lapping of the water, the soft breeze threading through the branches—it was all so vivid and alive. That feeling stayed with me long after I paddled back to shore.
When I got home, I couldn’t shake it. I had to paint it—not just to capture what I saw, but to hold onto how it felt. This painting is my memory of that morning, a quiet tribute to the light, the stillness, and the wonder of being there.
